Meet the Team

Joe directs the Lewis & Clark Career Accelerator initiative promoting career exploration and development at every stage of L&C students’ college experience. At Lewis & Clark, Joe teaches Career Development (CDEV) classes, collaborates with faculty, staff, students, and alumni on strategic initiatives, develops internship partnerships, and pursues resources and opportunities to support career development for L&C students. Before joining the L&C community, Joe was an associate professor in Human Development and director of the Center for Transformational Learning & Leadership at Washington State University. He holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and a PhD in Communication from WSU. He taught courses and facilitated workshops on leadership, communication, career development, and emotional intelligence. Outside of work he enjoys running, travel, craft beverages and food, and spending time with his four children.

Jonathan serves as the Director of the Career Center, where he oversees department operations and leads the development of a comprehensive, four-year career exploration program for students.

With over two decades of experience in higher education, Jonathan’s career spans seven diverse public and private institutions. His background includes leadership across a variety of student-focused areas, including first-year experience and orientation, student housing, living/learning communities, academic advising, and student support services.

Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from Virginia Tech, a master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration from Baylor University, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mercer University.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Jonathan is a dedicated Steelers fan. Outside of work, he enjoys drinking coffee on the back patio with his wife, coaching his kids’ soccer teams, and playing guitar.

Nina supports career exploration and experiential learning through advising, student employment and internship initiatives. She partners with students, faculty, staff and employers to create opportunities that help students build skills, explore interests and connect their academic experiences to meaningful next steps. At Lewis & Clark, Nina teaches CDEV 145: Internships, advises students on internships and on-campus employment and collaborates across campus to expand access to high-impact learning experiences. Before joining Lewis & Clark, Nina worked in student-facing roles in higher education at institutions including MIT and Tufts University. She has been part of the Lewis & Clark community since 2011. Nina holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Suffolk University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, being involved in her local school community and traveling.

Tasia has spent over 10 years in the field of social work serving the Pacific NW; she is now excited to bring her passion for community-centered work to L&C. She loves exploring future possibilities with students, inviting wonder and curiosity toward potential opportunities. Holding an MBA from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and a BS in Community Health Education from Portland State University, Tasia considers herself, above all, a perpetual student of life.

llan is a Career Consultant at Lewis & Clark College, where he advises students interested in the humanities and arts. As a counselor and educator, he enjoys helping students explore their interests, discover meaningful careers, and think creatively about the world and their place in it.

He holds a Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from Willamette University. As a first-generation college graduate from a bicultural immigrant family, Ilan understands that success takes many forms and enjoys supporting students as they navigate their own futures with curiosity and confidence.

Outside of work, Ilan enjoys reading novels and nonfiction, writing about history and politics, hiking with his partner, Ivy, along the Columbia River Gorge, and keeping a close eye on his adventurous cat, Dubi, who is always looking for a chance to sneak outside.

Mary Beth serves as a Career Consultant at Lewis & Clark, advising students interested in the social sciences. With experience as a counselor, coach, and coordinator, she supports students in all aspects of the career development process, starting with their first year and continuing after graduation. A first-generation college student and collegiate student-athlete, Mary Beth enjoys collaborating with students to explore future possibilities and helping to connect skills and interests with opportunities.

Originally from Philadelphia, Mary Beth has a master’s degree in counseling & human relations and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, both from Villanova University. Outside of work, Mary Beth enjoys exploring Portland restaurants with her husband, watching her son play baseball and soccer, reading, and cheering for Philly sports teams.

Kristin has been a part of the Lewis & Clark Community since 2006. She began as a legal assistant in the law school’s civil practice clinic. When the clinic closed in 2015, she transitioned to the CAS campus, where she now serves as an administrative specialist. She enjoys the vibrant atmosphere of working on a college campus and finds fulfillment in the important work carried out at the Career Center.
