What did you do at your internship?
My responsibilities at the organization were be daily gleaning efforts (harvesting produce) at local farms/backyards, farming, and food distribution.
What is your biggest takeaway from your internship?
I learned about the network of food distribution in Sonoma County and a range of agricultural practices. It was incredibly special becoming more connected with a diverse community of volunteers, farmers, recipients, and change makers around my local region.
How is this internship connected to your career goals and/or future aspirations?
My passion for food justice will shape my future work as a landscape architect. I hope to learn more about how to integrate agriculture into my designs.
